Message Bus: Churches uniting to see mission happen

Message in Wales is doing great work amongst young people and one of the ways it does this through the work of the Message Bus.

The Message Bus has been busy over the past few months with new regular bookings through church partnerships. One of these partnerships has been with New Life Church in Gower who have started running sessions in Pennard.

Over the first three weeks the bus has had over 50 young people coming to the sessions. So far, we’ve seen four of these young people make a response to the gospel. We’re also seeing unity in the area – people are coming together to volunteer from churches across the area.

One other partnership is with a church in Swansea. This church has been struggling to reach out and engage with their community, but because of the bus sessions, they have been able to meet young people where they are at. ‘The bus has helped galvanise the church’s volunteer team, and helped them realise they can reach young people and do youth work’, said Mike Thomas, Message Bus Manager. ‘As a result of the sessions, they’ve seen an increase in their youth team and a motivation among their current volunteers to get involved in youth ministry. It’s been so exciting and encouraging to see churches unite around mission.’
