The founder of a Christian charity that was set up almost two decades ago to transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people around the UK has won an award for the positive change he is helping to bring about.

Tim Morfin, founder and chief executive officer of Transforming Lives for Good (TLG), was named 'Change Maker of the Year' at Charity Bank's Impact Awards 2018 for developing a small church project in Bradford into a national charity which supports thousands of children and families.   Tranforming Lives for Good also works in Wales partnering with a number of churches and projetcts making a difference in the lives of many.

On accepting his award at the event on Tuesday, which was held at Resource for London in Islington, Tim commented, "This award means a great deal to me and represents the time and dedication of every single person involved with TLG. I'm grateful to Charity Bank for recognising the work we do and for the key role it has played in the development of TLG, partnering with us almost since the beginning and growing its investment in us as we have grown."

When accepting the award, Tim said, “I’m honoured to receive this award very much on behalf of the children, young people and families we’re helping. This award is a tremendous encouragement to our amazing team of staff and volunteers. It reflects the great work of the 172 churches now partnering with TLG across the UK to make a lasting difference.”

TLG works with more than around 170 churches and in excess of 800 volunteers to provide a suite of essential support to children and young people who are struggling, including education centres for teenagers at risk of exclusion, early intervention programmes, meals for those from low-income families, and activities.

Joseph Aninakwa, membership engagement manager at the Evangelical Alliance, said, "I was very pleased to be invited to Charity Bank's Impact Awards. It was great to see TLG, which is one of our members, recognised for the amazing work the team, led by Tim, undertakes in partnership with a number of churches. The team is passionate about and committed to transforming the lives of young people and seeing them reach their full potential."
