The Beacon Centre is a not-for-profit community centre in the heart of one of the most deprived areas of Cardiff. Operating with an inclusive ethos based on the Christian faith, the Beacon Centre Trust is currently seeking a secretary to help us administer our meetings.

Supporting the Chair, you will be responsible for keeping accurate records of our discussions and decision making processes, as well as distributing minutes and supporting documents to all trustees.

Trustees currently meet monthly at the Beacon Centre on weekday evenings. Although there is no requirement for the successful candidate to identify as a Christian, you will be expected to respect the Christian faith, which forms the basis of our governance.

Role DescriptionOverall

To ensure that committee meetings are properly administered.


  •  Plan and prepare the committee meetings and the AGM with others as appropriate.

  •  Minute committee meetings or ensure that another minute taker is available.

  •  Accurately record decisions and actions in the minutes.


  •  To be organised and methodical

  • To be discrete and respect the confidentiality of meetings

  • Able to take good minutes

  • Able to keep accurate records

  • Has the relevant skills to organise a meeting well

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministries of Franklin Graham and Will Graham by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all by every effective means available and by equipping the church and others to do the same. As part of a tour planned in the UK for 2020, Franklin Graham will be holding an outreach event in Cardiff in June 2020. Lisvane Baptist Church, a growing church in North Cardiff, is seeking to appoint a part-time lead Children’s Worker to both build on and develop the provision of quality, Jesus centred, fun-filled children’s work.

The Role

We are looking for an individual with a passion for Jesus, a love for children, a sense of fun and an ability to build and run teams that teach, relate to and invest in every child who walks through the doors, through a variety of means. 

Building on existing provision, and continuing to work alongside the local school, the role-holder will be required to create, implement and manage a wide range of activities  including weekly programmes for different age groups, holiday clubs for primary school children and discipleship programmes for children seeking to know Jesus better.


The role is for 20 hours over 3-4 days  per week , and although there is flexibility in where an individual will and can work, there will be an expectation of some time being worked in the Lisvane community from the church office. The role holder will be expected to commit to Church Membership of LBC and Sunday attendance.

Annual starting salary in the range £12000 - £14000 based on experience and qualifications.

Five weeks Pro rata annual leave plus bank holidays
