Secretary (Voluntary) for Beacon Centre Trust Cardiff
The Beacon Centre is a not-for-profit community centre in the heart of one of the most deprived areas of Cardiff. Operating with an inclusive ethos based on the Christian faith, the Beacon Centre Trust is currently seeking a secretary to help us administer our meetings.
Supporting the Chair, you will be responsible for keeping accurate records of our discussions and decision making processes, as well as distributing minutes and supporting documents to all trustees.
Trustees currently meet monthly at the Beacon Centre on weekday evenings. Although there is no requirement for the successful candidate to identify as a Christian, you will be expected to respect the Christian faith, which forms the basis of our governance.
To ensure that committee meetings are properly administered.
Plan and prepare the committee meetings and the AGM with others as appropriate.
Minute committee meetings or ensure that another minute taker is available.
Accurately record decisions and actions in the minutes.
To be organised and methodical
To be discrete and respect the confidentiality of meetings
Able to take good minutes
Able to keep accurate records
Has the relevant skills to organise a meeting well
Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
